A Call for Oral Histories about BAPL’s 1967 move

Were you there? In celebration of our 50th anniversary at our current location, the Bethlehem Area Public Library is seeking individuals to share their stories of “The Citizen’s Move” which took place on November 11, 1967. On this historic day, over 700 volunteers moved 80,000 books from Market Street to Church Street in preparation of the opening of the new Bethlehem Area Public Library at 11 W. Church Street.

We would love to hear your stories! If you would like to share, please contact us at 610-867-3761 ext. 399 or email us info@192.163.192.201 to set up an appointment.

We will record your stories, share them online, and create a unique audio collection in our Local History Room for posterity.
