South Side Branch’s Service Area
If you live in Bethlehem, Bethlehem Township, Fountain Hill, Freemansburg, Hanover Township (Northampton County only), or Lower Saucon Township, then you are eligible for a free library card. If you have already obtained a valid card from BAPL's Main Library, you do not need to register again to check-out materials from the South Side Branch. Only one card is needed to use either location, or our Bookmobile, regardless of which location issued your card.
Your Free Library Card
Your Bethlehem Area Public Library card allows you
to borrow books, videos, music CDs and more, use our Internet computers, download eAudiobooks, use online databases from your home computer, and participate in library programs at both South Side Branch and Main Library. To
receive a card you must reside within our service area and provide photo identification as well as proof of your home address.
If you live in another Pennsylvania library service area, you can present your home library card and proper identification to receive an Access PA card.

South Side Book-drop
When the library is closed, you can return materials to our book-drop located to the left of the handicap entrance on Webster Street. When we're open, the book-drop is locked and you must return materials to the inside check-in desk.
We consider book-drop materials returned on the previous day of operations provided that you made the deposit BEFORE the Library next opens. If more convenient, materials also can be returned to the Main Library or to our Bookmobile.
