National Bookmobile Day and National Poetry Month Mashup at BAPL

National Bookmobile Day and National Poetry Month Mashup at BAPL

BETHLEHEM, PA (April 11, 2018) – The Bethlehem Area Public Library is hosting a slew of exciting events during National Library Week from April 8 to April 14. One of these exciting events is happening on Wednesday, April 11 right outside the Main Library on Payrow Plaza. Rain or shine, BAPL will be bringing their bookmobile to the plaza for members of the community to visit and to take out books from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. The bookmobile will be available in honor of both National Library Week and National Bookmobile Day.

This bookmobile event will be accompanied by the celebration of National Poetry Month. In honor of National Poetry Month, BAPL’s very own Matt Wolf will have a stand next to the bookmobile and will be writing handwritten, personalized poems on the spot for members of the community for just $1.00.

Matt reports being very excited for the event: “A bunch of my favorite things are converging. It’s National Poetry Month and the library bookmobile is going to be at the plaza. I just thought it would be fun to write poetry on the spot for whoever comes by. The thought of spontaneous creativity is exciting to me, and I think other people will enjoy it as well.”

Wolf is also hosting a Poetry Event to benefit BAPL on April 27, 2018. “Experimento: A Cultural Stew” will be held at 7:00 P.M. on 4/27 at the Charles Brown Ice House in Bethlehem. Attendees of this event will enjoy free-form jazz, poetry, live painting, and dance. Tickets are available at the door for just $10.

Both events are in support of the Bob Cohen Room, which is being renovated at the main branch of Bethlehem Area Public Library.
