In celebration of Black History Month, we will read Change Sings: a Children’s Anthem by Inaugural and National Youth Poet Laureate and activist Amanda Gorman.  Each participant will receive a Change Sings packet to help them reflect on and create their own positive change in the world.  Participants will then be introduced, through literature, to the lives of  Janet Collins, the first African American prima ballerina,  and Misty Copeland, the first African American Female Principal Dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre.  Following the readings, participants will learn basic ballet steps with a dance student from Lehigh Valley Charter Arts High School.    No registration is required.  Masks are a must for ages 2+.   This event will be held in the Youth Services Department on the 2nd floor of the Library.
