Experience this ancient Chinese exercise which promotes circulation, flexibility, balance, and stamina to improve overall health and well-being. Exercises are short, easy to learn, and adjustable to every individual. All skill levels are welcome! This event is sponsored by friends of the library and is only accessible by stairs.
Kevin Siddons, Ed.D. has a B.A. in psychology and an Ed.D. in Health Education. Professionally, he has worked in the addictions field and health research/outcome studies. As an undergraduate, he taught yoga and meditation techniques to senior citizens in both Lehigh and Northampton counties. Later he taught relaxation techniques through the Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Health Promotion and Disease Prevention department. Dr. Siddons has taught relaxation techniques and pain management to chronic pain patients and MS patients.
He has studied karate (10 years – black belt in Shorin No Tora karate) and Aikido (6 years). For the last 8 years he has been studying Qigong, an ancient Chinese system of self-healing exercises.
Dr. Siddons is delighted to be able to bring this marvelous self-healing practice into the modern age.
