When the acoustic guitar in Studio 11 broke beyond repair, we put out a simple ask to our community: did anyone have a guitar we could use? What followed was an outpouring of generosity. This is the first of several thank-you posts we’ll be sharing. First, a big thank you to Basement Poetry who donated not only a beautiful replacement guitar but also a brand-new microphone for Studio 11. These will be used by local artists, students, and musicians at BAPL-free of charge of course-as part of Inspire Creativity through the Basement Poetry Dream Lab, a program dedicated to supporting community service projects and creative work in our region.
Studio 11 exists because people believe creative tools should be accessible, and this gift ensures that even students, artists, anyone, can make music right here at the library. We’re so thankful to Basement Poetry for investing in our community and for all they do. Stay tuned as we share more thank-yous soon.
