BAPL is now offering touchless borrowing!

Starting Tuesday June 30, BAPL is thrilled to begin offering touchless check-out services! You may place a hold or request a book online or over the phone, and visit Main, the South Side branch, or Coolidge for touchless pickup.

How do I place a hold or reserve a book?

Call the Main, South Side branch, or Coolidge location to place a hold over the phone, or request/hold a book online through the bapl.org catalog. When your book is ready for pickup, you will receive a phone call.

What happens when I come to pick up my library holds?

There will be a table at the entry of each location for check-out transactions. Library staff will check out your materials when you arrive, and place them on the table for you to pick up. Just show us your card or other ID! The typical reserve fee is waived.

The entire transaction will be touchless. If you have books to return, the book drops will be open at each location all day.

If you arrive to pick up your materials and there is a line, please follow standard social distancing protocols. Stand at least six feet apart and wear a mask.

BAPL locations will be staffed during normal business hours but are not yet open for patrons. Call us with any questions–and thank you for being a part of the BAPL community!
