Starting Tuesday June 9: Bring Your Books Back to BAPL!

Starting Tuesday June 9, the Bethlehem Area Public Library will accept fine-free returns of all library materials currently on loan to our patrons.

There are over 15,000 items checked out! It will take us some time to receive and return them all to our collection safely. In order to prepare to lend them out to other people, we need your help.

How do I return my library items?

The Main Library, South Side Branch, and BAPL Coolidge will all be staffed during normal business hours (see below).

During normal business hours, please deposit your library materials in the appropriate bins OUTSIDE of these locations.

Before and after normal business hours, please deposit materials in the book drops.

No library locations are open for patrons at this time.

If you arrive to deposit your materials and there is a line, please follow standard social distancing protocols! Stand at least six feet apart and wear a mask.

When can I check new items out?

We’re working on that! We will let you know as soon as it’s possible. In the meantime, the library’s free online books, movies, research resources and virtual programs are all still available as normal. E-books and other resources continue to be available through the Overdrive (Libby) app and bapl.org.

What about the Bookmobile?

The Library’s outreach van will follow the Bookmobile’s last posted schedule (Winter 2020) and will be accepting returns only. Please follow the driver’s instructions about how to drop off your materials!

BAPL locations will be staffed during normal business hours but not yet open for patrons. Call us with any questions.

Please follow directions and be patient! We’re taking all necessary steps and precautions so that we can provide the services we know you love (and we do too!) safely and thoughtfully.

Thank you for being a part of our BAPL community!
