Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration (Music, Art, and Food!)

Join us at the Main Library on Saturday Sept. 29 at 2:00 pm for a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a nationally observed time to recognize and celebrate the traditions, contributions, diversity, and strength of citizens whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.

This year’s celebration will feature a live performance by local musicians Jesus Daniel y Su Grupo En Secuencia, and an art opening featuring the photography of NCC student Jamie Ratchford and work from BAPL’s own Ari González. Jamie recently traveled to Colombia and took many wonderful photographs of the people and places there (an example is to the right). Ari has an exhibit of photographs and drawings chronicling her departure from Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Empanadas will be served (free of charge) from the Golazo House.
