Meet Some Mushers!
Walt and Janet Tremer of Coopersburg understand if they get upstaged by their co-star. After all, who wouldn’t love to meet Jackie, the retired Alaskan malamute! She’s a remarkable animal who completed the 1,049 mile sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. If those paws could talk!
Of course, Walt and Janet have some pretty interesting tales to tell of their own. They were the ones who led Jackie and the rest of a 14-dog team across the frigid terrain. Learn what it takes to fight through a thousand miles of wilderness. Hear how they kept warm with temperatures as low as fifty below zero. Enjoy “Tales From the Iditarod” live at the Bethlehem Area Public Library.
